How NEWater`s Deionized Water Filter Works
Deionization filtration and other processes are sometimes referred to as "water polishing". Deionization (Dl) filters exchange positive and negative contaminant molecules in water with positive hydrogen and negative hydroxyl molecules. The switch when charged particle ions are reversibly exchanged with particle ions that have the same charge is called ion exchange. Resins function in this way because of their functional groups, which are permanently attached to the polymer matrix of the resin. The resin matrix is then used to supply ions with opposite charges until equilibrium is reached.
