The Use of FeSiMg Nodulizer:

Rare earth ferro silicon magnesium nodularizer is mostly used in the production of ductile iron, ductile iron is a valuable high-strength cast iron material developed on the basis of gray cast iron. Due to the spherical distribution of graphite, ductile cast iron greatly reduces the splitting effect on the matrix, its mechanical properties are significantly improved compared with gray cast iron, and its comprehensive properties are close to those of steel. It is based on its excellent performance that it has been successfully used to cast some parts with complex stress and high requirements for strength, toughness, and wear resistance. Ductile iron has rapidly developed into a cast iron material that is second only to gray cast iron and is widely used.

The amount of nodulizer will affect the properties of molten iron and also affect the size and grade of the foundry. The nodularizer with a magnesium content of 4%, 5%, and 5.5% belongs to low magnesium nodularizer, it’s Re(rare earth element) content is 1% to 2%. Low content of magnesium nodularizer is mostly used in frequency furnace smelting and spheroidization of low sulfur molten iron. The advantage of this nodularizer is that the spheroidization reaction is gentle, and the nodulizing elements are easy to be fully absorbed. Nodulizer with a magnesium content of 6% to 7%, usually used in cupolas and double-smelting of electric furnaces. The high content of the magnesium modularizing agent is suitable for cupola smelting.

Low-aluminum nodulizer are used in castings that are prone to the subcutaneous blowhole, and castings that require aluminum content of molten iron.

Rare earth silicon magnesium nodularizer is also used as an additive and alloying agent in the production of steel and iron. It is used for refining, deoxidation, denaturation, neutralizing harmful impurities with low melting points, and purifying Steel by forme new metal compounds.
