Brooklyn ImmunoTherapeutics (BTX)
Non-Viral Nucleic Acid Delivery
Historically, viruses were the primary method of delivering nucleic acids to cells and spawned the field of gene therapy. More recently, scientists have used non-viral delivery systems to enhance the uptake of nucleic acids by cells. However, conventional delivery systems often suffer from endosomal entrapment and toxicity, limiting their therapeutic use. Brooklyn is using a novel chemical substance that is exceptionally effective in delivering nucleic acids, including mRNA, to cells both ex vivo and in vivo.
