NS-Instruments - Model Sigtuna KR3T-5 -Fully Automated Triple Continuous Bioreaction Simulation System
The SIGTUNA KR3T-5 is a general-purpose laboratory anaerobic fermentation simulation platform designed to work with three 5L small anaerobic reactors to simulate continuous anaerobic fermentation processes. The system is equipped with a data acquisition unit (DAQ) and control acquisition software. High-quality biogas simulation data obtained from the bioreactor simulator helps users determine the suitability of potential biogas production feedstocks, the appropriate organic loading rate or residence time for a given feedstock, and assists researchers in optimizing engineering design and process operating parameters.
This triple fully automated reactor unit, compared to traditional stirred tank reactors, offers significantly stronger mixing capabilities for multiphase systems, improving simulation accuracy by 3 to 10 times. It also enables precise integration between laboratory and large-scale production, helping large and medium-sized biogas projects and industrial biogas production enterprises optimize processes, improve the efficiency of existing processes, and reduce operating costs.

Simulated guidance for real operations
It can stably simulate the operation of reactors in actual biogas projects over a long period of time and monitor changes in process parameters. Through highly automated and standardized measurement and data processing solutions, it helps you better predict potential problems and outcomes in actual projects. Whether you are a researcher or an engineer, the data feedback simulated by the SIGTUNA system can easily determine the optimal process conditions for project operation and optimize design parameters, helping you to rationally allocate funds and maximize the economic benefits of project operation.
The open-source solution
supports manual/automatic feeding, as well as single/multi-material mixed feeding, enabling stable feeding and operation of materials with low solids concentrations. Furthermore, each fermentation unit can operate independently. The 5L CSTR reactors can be freely combined to simulate hydrogen-producing dark fermentation, two-phase anaerobic fermentation, high-solids dry fermentation, leachate reflux experiments, and landfill anaerobic fermentation, offering high flexibility to meet the needs of various simulation studies.
