AanderaaModel Mipeg X -Offshore Crane Monitoring System

SHARE

The Mipeg X is a crane monitoring system which is monitoring and logging the crane load cycles. The system is an event recorder which mean that no recording is done when the crane is idle. The Mipeg X is a crane monitoring system which is monitoring and logging/recording the crane load cycles. The system is an event recorder which mean that no recording is done when the crane is idle. The recorded will start when the crane starts to lift a load. This is the “event” starting the cycle. During the cycle, many different operational parameters are recorded and stored in the Crane Operation Recorder – the COR. These records may be retrieved at any time by following a well-documented procedure, data downloaded onto a Secure Digital (SD) card. The SD card is installed in the Operator`s display.

These crane usage data is very important and is a critical input to enter into a planned, preventing maintenance program to provide correct crane service interval and to secure the crane safety.

The event recorder can store approx. 5000 records. The system may also be organized as a ring buffer – a FIFO – where the oldest records will be lost/over written when the ring buffer is full. A full data coverage may still be achieved if operation retrieve and erase the COR before this is full. The Cor% full is displayed.

A typical crane lift cycle record shows the following:

  • Dynamic/Shock/Peak Hook Load together with the Static/Stable Hook Load
  • Dynamic/Shock/Peak Overturning-Moment together with the Static/Stable Overturning-Moment
  • Radius at the two above events
  • Slew Angle/Crane Position when the lift cycle started and ended
  • Time and Date, including the duration of the cycle
  • Operational parameters such as Load Hoist Winch used, Hoist Rigging and Sea/Duty Condition

Many other operational records are also recorded such as:

  • Overload records with alarms
  • Error detection records
  • Calibration events of system parts
