CCC - Oleum Acid

When highly concentrated, this colourless liquid releases fumes and is called fuming sulphuric acid or Oleum. The Oleum is stored and transported in sealed containers to prevent the fumes from escaping to the air or soil. Oleum is used in the production of laundry detergents and aluminum. Sulphuric acid is used in water treatment, car batteries and steel production. The product is shipped in bulk tank-trucks and railcars to customers in Southern Ontario, Quebec and New York State.
