Consolidated’s pass-thru sterilizers are commonly used in biocontainment facilities, such as in BSL-3 rated laboratories, as well as clean-rooms.  Each pass-thru model comes equipped with full touchscreen controls mounted on each end of the unit for operation from within or outside the containment area.  Pass-thru units placed in BSL-3 labs are built to comply with the tough requirements of biocontainment facilities.  Read more below, in our BSL-3 section, to learn more about our BSL-3 configuration.

Designed for BSL-3
Built to meet the tough requirement of biocontainment facilities and Biosafety Level 3 rated laboratories located within any life science, biotechnology, or animal research (vivarium) facility. Sterilizers are built with a double-door, pass-thru, configuration.

Dual X1 Controls
All BSL-3 sterilizers come equipped with this state-of-the-art and easy-to-use control system. Full touchscreen controls are mounted on each end of the autoclave for operation from within or outside the containment area.

Bioseal
All BSL-3 sterilizers must be sealed appropriately in the wall to prevent the passage of airborne microbes from the contained to the non-contained room. A sealing flange system (Bioseal) integrates the sterilizer into the BSL-3 lab to provide separation and a positive seal between the contained and non-contained rooms.

Pass-Thru Door Interlock System
Prevents opening of the sterilizer door on the non-contained side until completion of a sterilization cycle. Also prevents both doors from being opened simultaneously. Designed with the flexibility to accommodate the desired direction of product flow.

Effluent Decontamination
In BSL-3 labs all waste and effluent must be rendered sterile. Consolidated’s system traps bacteria within the autoclave chamber, filters, and sterilizes the effluent prior to releasing to drain.

Security
The X1 control system on BSL-3 sterilizers allows for up to 50 manager-controlled password protected usernames as well as lockable cycle parameters.

Reducing the utility costs and carbon footprint are important consideration for many facility and sustainability stakeholders. Consolidated understands the role autoclaves can play, and we’ve developed these state-of-the-art configurations to significantly reduce water and energy usage for both new and existing sterilizers.
