Pellet and Briquette Production Plants

Different types of pellets and briquettes are produced, e.g.

• EN plus A1 / A2 pellets
• industrial pellets
• pellets made from cutting
• wood briquettes
• bark briquettes.

During the conversion process the raw material is dehumidified and thus the heating value is increased.

The increase in heat value is a prerequisite for the use of natural biomass in small fully automated heating systems (such as pellet heating systems) being as easy to handle as oil or gas heating systems. The use of industrial pellets in large power plants also within the framework of co-firing (co-firing of biomass and fossil fuels) is becoming more and more important in those countries having ratified the Kyoto treaty.

Pellet and briquette production plants are fully automated plants in which various processing steps are carried out in order to dry and harden the raw material. In doing so, biomass can be transported more easily which allows for an economic and ecological use of fuels.
