Marathon Petroleum Company LP has cokers at four of its refineries, Detroit, Mich., Galveston Bay, Texas, Garyville, La., and Robinson, Ill. Garyville, Galveston Bay and Detroit produces fuel-grade coke while Robinson produces anode-grade coke.
Transportation and Marketing
All Garyville petroleum coke is transported directly from the refinery via river barge. Robinson petroleum coke is transported via railcar (directly) and also can be transloaded from railcars onto river barges. Detroit coke is loaded out by truck while Galveston Bay coke is trucked to a storage terminal and loaded into an ocean going vessel.
