Photons - UV Radiation System
From Swimming Pool
Photons of UV radiation are absorbed by adjacent thymine molecules in the DNA of the target organism, breaking the hydrogen bond with adenine and resulting in the formation of a dimer. This interferes with DNA replication and cell reproduction. RNA and proteins exposed to UV radiation also take part in inhibition reactions within the cell structure. With a sufficiently high UV dose, the amount of genetic disruption is such that the organism can no longer function and subsequently dies.
Oxidation
The UV radiation occupies wavelengths between 100 nm and 400 nm in the electromagnetic spectrum between visible light and x-rays. They are divided into four bands: UV-A, UV-B, UV-C and UV-V. The UV-C provided germicidal action associated with the UV disinfection. The germicidal range is between 200 and 300 nm; high germicidal action (disinfection) occurs at 265 nm
It is totally different chemical disinfectants, which inactivate microorganisms by damaging or destroying cellular structures.
Ultraviolet lamps produce a UV photons which are absorbed by the DNA molecules in the body, breaking the hydrogen bonds. This reaction prevents DNA replication and becomes inactive molecules.
UV radiation is the only rapid method for purification of water without using chemicals.
Our equipment is designed specifically for the treatment of swimming pool water, using a special lamp Low or Medium Pressure mounted on a quartz sleeve high purity.
The application of UV is particularly suitable for the removal of Cryptosporidium and chloramines. With the elimination of these compounds combined chlorine bath water we get a very high quality.
The type of light spectrum of our teams, simultaneously producing several treatments in the recirculating water pool. This broad spectrum UV lamps provides safe disinfection capacity in conjunction with oxidation in the low-band wavelength and eliminates particularly Cryptosporidium and Giardia species that can not be removed by conventional chemical treatments.
As the UV system a physical process has no residual disinfection capacity necessary to maintain high levels of free chlorine in the pool so that they can avoid problems of cross infection between bathers.
Due to the presence of body oils, suntan oils and other contaminants, UV reactors must have an automatic cleaning system to remove those impurities deposited on the surface of the protective covers quartz lamps thus maintaining its performance.
