Physical Treatment: Physical treatment is carried out to remove the floating substances in the wastewater and solid substances that can self-collapse. Equipment used for this purpose; grills and screens are sand and oil traps. Generally, physical treatment systems are used at the beginning of biological or chemical treatment plants. In this way, it will be possible to remove most of the pollutants in the wastewater.
Chemical Treatment In the
chemical treatment process, as a result of the addition of chemicals (coagulant, polyelectrolyte etc.) to the wastewater at the appropriate pH value, the polluting substances are separated from the water in the form of sludge by precipitation. Applications; neutralization, flocculation and coagulation.
Neutralization: It is an acid or base addition process for acidic and basic wastewater to adjust the pH value.
Coagulation: It is the process of adding coagulant chemicals to wastewater at a suitable pH and getting ready to form a flock by combining with colloidal and suspended solids in the wastewater.
Flocculation: Flocculation (flocculation) is the process of combining small particles, formed by coagulation, as a result of mixing wastewater at the appropriate speed, and forming flocks that can easily collapse.
