Planning, design and development of sealing systems
After several years of experience with mineral sealings in earthworks and hydraulic engineering, and with bituminous sealings in tanking work, we at Geotex decided that better results could be obtained using Geomembranes (GMB).
Geomembranes, however, also have their weak point, but these can be minimized by careful design and supervision during both the installation and subsequent operations.
Tests with reinforcements for storage basins The wish to design and construct safe sealing systems with geomembranes to overcome the disadvantages of Geocomposite Clay Liners (GCL) resulted in the development of the Geosynthetic Barrier swelling nonwoven (GBR-S). The range of types developed for different applications represents a significant step forward in the sealing-system design.
