Colour Coated Sheet Design

Pre painted steel sheet is made from color coated steel coils through shearing and profiling. Compared to color coated coils, it is more suitable for end-users. From the design, we have colour coated plain sheet and color coated profile sheet to choose from. Besides, we offer custom designs according to your requirements. Both of them are widely used in construction, office, commercial and other fields.

Colour Coated Plain Sheet

Due to its simple design and flat surface, it is often used in large public buildings, mobile houses, furniture, home appliances, elevator, advertising boards, storefront signboards, etc.

Colour Coated Profile Sheet

There are many different designs of profile sheets, such as trapezoidal design, wavy design, etc. Commonly, color coated profile sheets are widely used in roofing and wall of industrial and civil buildings, warehouses, roller shutters, etc.
Plain and profile sheets are very similar. They have the same characteristics, like light in weight, high strength, beautiful appearance, etc. You can choose according to your needs and preference.

Types of Substrates

We often use galvanized sheet (PPGI) or Al-Zn coated steel sheet (PPGL) as substrate. GI is applying zinc coating to steel, while the coating of GL is composed of 55% aluminum and 43.4% zinc and 1.6% silicon. By comparison, GL is of good heat and corrosion resistance. It can be used at a high temperature of 315℃. And it is about four times more corrosion resistant than GI so that its service life can reach up to 25 years under normal conditions. More than that, with the same thickness, its weight is much lighter. So their uses are different. For example, GL is widely used in chimney pipes, microwave ovens, and lampshades, etc. While its cost is also more expensive than that of GI. Except for special uses, using GI as a substrate is more cost-effective.

Types of Coatings

The common coatings are polyester (PE), silicone modified polyester (SMP), high durability polyester (HDP), and polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF). For different uses, the requirements are also different. For example, coating resistance is the first consideration for public and civil buildings. Therefore, PVDF or HDP is a better choice. While for smelting plants, corrosion resistance will be more important than color retention.

Research shows that the service life of color coated steel is 50% longer than that of galvanized steel.
