Vinidex ChlorblueModel CC2 PE -Pressure Pipe for Drinking Water – Blue

SHARE

Chlorblue is a PE100 pipe engineered to extend the service life of drinking water systems with higher water temperatures and elevated chlorine levels, compared to existing PE100 pipes.

Most popular related searches
  • Continuous elevated water temperature
  • Presence of high levels of chlorine-based disinfectant chemicals
  • Low water acidity (pH level)
  • High operating pressure and velocity
  • Small pipe diameter/low pressure class

Due to elevated soil (and water) temperatures PIPA POP018 indicates that a reduced service life is more likely to occur where the soil/water  temperatures fall into the red, orange and yellow zones plus the areas around Townsville on the map.

For the same range of water conditions, Vinidex Chlorblue can be used in a much larger range of temperatures zones without needing to increase pipe size or pressure classification compared to traditional PE material.

As a result, Vinidex Chlorblue is the ideal solution for the large range of water temperature and chlorine levels encountered across Australia.

Recognising the increased risk in the above zones Vinidex has introduced Chlorblue® with a higher chlorine resistance classification (CC2).

  • Chlorblue is suitable for a much wider combination of operating temperatures and chlorine disinfectant levels and can be used for most water chemistries in the majority of temperature zones
  • Chlorblue is the preferred choice for use in applications where the fluid being transported has an elevated level of chlorine and temperature
  • For water service applications where chlorine disinfectant is not used, Vinidex offers Black PE100. Normal de-rating guidelines for elevated temperature should be followed.Plastics Industry Pipe Association (PIPA) POP18 “Polyethylene Drinking Water Pipes in Contact with Chlorine and Chloramine Disinfectants” outlines the Chlorine Classification (CC) Index set out in the US ASTM Standard D3350:2014 “Standard Specification for Polyethylene Plastics Pipe and Fittings Materials”.
Higher classification materials will withstand higher levels of chlorine, temperature and pressure over time.
