DN Tanks - Model EQ, CSO, SSO -Prestressed Concrete Equalization Storage Tanks
The durability, long service life, low-maintenance, and design flexibility provided by a prestressed concrete tank make DN Tanks an ideal fit for the demands of equalization storage tank applications. Our team is dedicated to working with you to customize an EQ tank design specific to your project incorporating the following features:
Equalization Storage Application Overview
Equalization storage tanks can be located in the wastewater collection system or at the treatment plant and are designed to provide two functions: peak flow storage and flow equalization.
Peak Flow Storage (CS0, SSO)
The animation illustrates the peak flow storage process for Combined Sewer Overflows (CSO) and Sanitary Sewer Overflow (SSO). Peak flow storage tanks are most often located in the collection system and are designed to capture excess flows during a storm event. After the storm event subsides and flows return to normal levels, the influent stored in the tank is released into the collection system at a rate that ensures the capacity of the collection mains and treatment plant are not exceeded. Peak flow storage tanks can provide a cost effective alternative to upsizing other components of the wastewater collection and treatment system.
Flow Equalization
Flow equalization tanks are most often located at the wastewater treatment plant and are designed to provide storage to accommodate the variable flow into the tank and output a steady state condition that would flow into the treatment plant, which optimizes the efficiency of the treatment process.
