PVS - Model Version 1 -Primary Wastewater Treatment Plant
The PVS Primary Wastewater Treatment plant has been developed, in order to considerably reduce influent loads by applying micro belt filtration. This innovation of micro belt filtration as a pre-treatment step ensures a space-saving and effective replacement of conventional primary sedimentation tanks. Furthermore, Primary Wastewater Treatment plants in coastal areas in the form of a microfiltration step are a reasonable, quick and economic solution, in order to reduce the degree of pollution of untreated wastewater before feeding a subsequent plant, since even finest particles (colloids) can be separated. In addition to that, this form of pre-treatment (in the form of a primary wastewater treatment plant) is an ideal requirement for a subsequently installed, biological Wastewater Treatment plant.
The hydraulic throughput capacity of a primary wastewater treatment plant is generally depending on the required effluent concentration depending of the influent parameters that are the basis for the dimensioning.
Standard sizes:
- Currently, several unit sizes between 15 l and 160 l per second and device are available.
- For larger influent amounts, parallel operations and collector modules may be applied
- (i.e. a collector module = 1,800 l/s). For communal wastewater, we have installed a primary wastewater treatment plant for 2.0 million PE with a subsequent biology.
Treatment degree:
- Based on the results of several different applications in communal and industrial wastewater, the following treatment degrees can be achieved.
- BSB5 (influent) = between 20% and 60%
- TSS (influent) = between 40% and 80%.
- Highest possible degree of separation by Micro filter belt.
- Economic, quick solution for coastal areas.
- Ideal preliminary step for a subsequent biological stage.
- Increased production of fouling gas due to the increase of the primary sludge with digestion towers and biogas plants.
- Lowest space requirement
- Lowest efforst for operation and maintenance
Any application where influent loads shall be maximally reduced via a separation of solids.
Typical applications:
- As a replace of a primary sedimentation tank in biological wastewater treatment plants
- Pre-sedimentation stage for the industry for process water and wastewater for the feeding of the recipient and forwarding to the centralized wastewater treatment plant.
- Direct feeding of used and/or wastewater in the recipient, sea, river, etc.
