PWR and BWR Strainers

Twelve years ago, ENERCON was one of the three primary design teams in the U.S. that developed the new generation BWR strainers for ECCS strainer blockage resolution. Over the last six years, ENERCON has led the world industry in resolution of GSI-191 for the PWR units. We have developed a team of experts with unique experience in NEI 02-01 Walkdowns, NEI 04-07 Evaluations, and an innovative `Top-Hat` sump strainer system. ENERCON has specifically led the industry in resolution of fibrous debris bypass and downstream blockage issues with our Debris Bypass Eliminator, patent pending. The ENERCON `Top-Hat` Strainer system has been successfully applied at 14 U.S. nuclear units and 17 foreign nuclear units. Now ENERCON is prepared to support the BWR units in the required revisit of the strainer performance evaluation and methodology. ENERCON is currently supporting BWR units in the debris source walkdowns of their containment and drywell areas.
