Lion AlcoBlow - Rapid Screening System

The lion AlcoBlow is a simple to use, rapid response instrument used to determine whether or not a person has any alcohol in their breath. It uses the Lion fuel cell sensor, so the reading is unlikely to be affected by anything but alcohol.

There is no physical contact between the subject and instrument, so there is no mouthpiece to replace for each test.

There are two models to choose from. The lion AlcoBlow Rapid Test and the lion AlcoBlow Standard. Both instruments provide rapid screening and provide the user with an indication of alcohol from within the breath test subject from one simple breath test. 

The AlcoBlow Rapid Test has been designed to provide a faster cycle time when analysing a breath sample, so providing the user with a quicker result time than seen on the lion AlcoBlow Standard. Both instruments detect the presence or absence of alcohol in the body.

The lion AlcoBlow Rapid Test is ideally suited for use in situations where a large number of people have to be tested, and with the minimum of intrusion: for example, Police roadblocks, prisons, at the entrance to a mine, factory or safety-critical establishment.

In Active mode the subject blows into the sampling cone until a sample is taken by the instrument for alcohol analysis. Within seconds a coloured LED accompanied by an audible tone indicates whether the sample contains alcohol. The system then clears itself and within seconds is ready for the next subject test.

In Passive mode the operator draws in a sample of breath from the subject, ideally while they are speaking.  The display then indicates whether or not that subject has alcohol in their body.  The Passive mode is also ideally suited to checking the air above fluids, to see if these contain alcohol.

The AlcoBlow Standard is a rapid screener which detects the presence or absence of alcohol in the body. This easy to use portable instrument is invaluable to the Police at the roadside, to an employer in the workplace or in any environment where multi screening is a necessity.

Both models feature 2 control buttons. Provide reliable analysis in seconds with the results shown on a single LED. 

No mouthpiece is required. There is no physical contact and testing can be conducted in an active or passive mode.

The instrument should be checked with an alcohol standard at regular intervals, and recalibrated if required.  The user may do this using an AlcoCal^® product; or, alternatively, contact Lion to arrange for a calibration at the Lion Laboratories Ltd facility or contact your country distributor for local support.
