Conica - Recycled Tyre Rubber Granules
Bulky and practically indestructible, used tyres are among the most demanding of waste items today. However, the rubber used in the production of truck tyres possesses properties that are ideal for producing various synthetic surfaces for sports facilities and playgrounds. As early as 1991, CONICA LTD in Newark, UK, opened a plant that pioneered the conversion of used commercial vehicle tyres into recycled rubber granules. By recycling tyres and extracting valuable secondary raw materials, CONICA makes a significant contribution to environmental protection.
Continuous further development and optimisation of the recycling plant since its opening guarantees the highest levels of reliability and minimises outage durations. CONICA only uses truck and bus tyres, since these basic raw materials allow the highest quality granules to be produced for numerous surface types and other end-uses including moulded products, road building, materials recovery, roofing tiles, floor coverings, belting and rubber coating.
The entire recycling process is supported by extensive quality assurance measures, and the particle size distribution of the end product is closely monitored with regard to product specification. With a current capacity of up to 20`000 tonnes of tyres per year, CONICA is also in a position to carry out extensive deliveries. The six standard grades are ready in stock and in bulk for immediate dispatch.
