Red Flint Sand & Gravel’s Anthracite Filter Media is produced from the highest quality anthracite available worldwide. Anthracite filter media is specifically selected from deep mining sites that yield the highest percentage of carbon. Our anthracite is know for its cleanliness, durability, uniformity and purity, for producing better long-lasting filter media performance.
Anthracite is a low density media used as the top layer in water or wastewater use in a multi-media or dual-media filter. The media is used to remove floc and large solids, allowing for efficient solids loading and improved run times between backwashes.
Red Flint Anthracite is produced either with a dry process. Dry anthracite is efficiently screened with greater sizing capabilities and lower uniformity coefficients (UC). Low UC’s allows for improved flow rates, longer filter runs, less backwash water, optimal solids holding capacity and longer overall filter life between media changes.

Packaging is available in 50 and 60 cu ft bags. Our trucks make deliveries nationally. International and national shipments are arranged by truck, rail, or overseas container.
