The fully integrated cab design prioritizes drivers with 38% more space, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, integrated controls, and temperature-controlled seating—ensuring comfort, alertness and ease of operation for drivers of all shapes and sizes.

Consistent Step Height

With a step height that’s 2″ lower than the industry standard, drivers can efficiently enter and exit the vehicle throughout their route. The consistent ingress and egress can help provide a comfortable and ergonomic experience for refuse and recycling collection professionals who make many trips in and out of the vehicle.

The thoughtful vehicle design helps refuse professionals be accutely aware of their surroundings and have outstanding visibility. This can help promote efficiency and drive a satisfying team member experience.

Advanced Driver-Assistance System

Fully installed at the factory and standard on every McNeilus Volterra ZFL electric refuse collection vehicle, this integrated system includes blind-spot monitoring, 360° camera view, forward and rear collision notification,  backup camera, rear cross traffic alert, lane departure warning and autonomous emergency braking.

Driver Instrument Panel Display

With a 15" center display and an integrated 12.3″ digital gauge cluster display, the driver can stay informed with speed, odometer, battery regeneration, indicator lights, 360° camera images and more.

Leveraging the proven McNeilus® Meridian™ body, the fully electric front loading McNeilus® Volterra ZFL™ offers a fully electric performance while utilizing the commonality and strength you've come to know with the Meridian body. With a lift capacity of 8,500 pounds, the McNeilus® Volterra ZFL™ electric front loader is designed for your refuse and recycling collection needs. 
Tight Turning Radius

Maneuver through tight spaces, corners and alleys efficiently with the McNeilus® Volterra™ ZFL™ electric front loader. The highly-maneuverable vehicle allows operators to effectively navigate through tight spaces - enabling efficient refuse and recycling collection.

Serviceability & Maintenance

Real-time data and vehicle monitoring offers an optimized driver experience with tire pressure monitoring, automated daily checks and cloud-based telematics capabilities. It also enables condition-based maintenance to help manage downtime. Serviceable components are accessible from the ground without climbing or lifting equipment and conveniently located in one compartment.

The purpose-built McNeilus Volterra ZFL eRCV can help achieve customer sustainability goals. The vehicle features an electrified drivetrain, e-axle architecture, smart battery system and cooperative regenerative braking to enable an all-day route on a single charge with zero emissions. It is certified by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Zero Emissions

The McNeilus Volterra ZFL has earned three certifications from the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the California Air Resources Board (CARB). This provides customers a solution to achieve their sustainability goals and meet EV requirements.

Smart Battery Management System

The intuitive system has advanced load-shedding capabilities based on critical levels and increases the number of battery charge/discharge cycles to preserve battery life. Also, if the remaining battery charge gets too low, the system will limit specific non-essential functions. The Volterra ZFL eRCV includes a specifically-designed battery system for the refuse profile to enhance the life over the product lifecycle. 

High Battery Capacity

With a battery capacity approximately 25% higher than the industry average, the vehicle delivers an extended range. This can help service numerous locations and complete more routes.
