The Molding
Roplast is a company specialized in the production of large-sized Polyethylene products , including containers for the storage of chemical products, polyethylene containers for separate waste collection and MSW (bells and bins with volumes from 1,300 to 5,000 liters), portable toilets , boats etc.

The main feature of Roplast products is the technology with which they are produced: rotational molding.

It is a "clean" technology, because it does not resort to the use of chemical solvents or other polluting agents, and effective, because it allows the creation of large products in a single piece, without joints or welds. All the phases of the production cycle, from the design to the realization of the molds and prototypes up to the mass production, are guaranteed by the quality control according to the UNI EN ISO 9001: 2015 standard.

THE TECHNOLOGY of rotational molding allows the transformation of polyethylene (or other thermoplastic resins) using only the action of heat, without resorting to the use of pressure (unlike what happens instead in many other production processes such as injection molding , extrusion or thermoforming process).

Rotational molding uses hollow molds composed only of the external part of the figure (matrix) and without the internal part (punch).

THE STAMP,loaded with powdered polymer, it is placed in an oven in which it heats up by rotating on two orthogonal axes (for this reason it is called "rotational" molding). As the mold rotates, the polymer continually touches the inner walls of the mold, heats up until it melts and adheres to the mold. The result is an almost uniform thickness, when all the polymer powder has adhered to the walls of the mold (i.e. at the end of `cooking`), this is extracted from the oven and introduced into a cooling chamber. By means of air (blown by fans) and spray of nebulized water, the mold is cooled and the polymer solidifies in the position it was in at the end of cooking. At the end of the cooling, the mold is opened and an artefact is extracted that reproduces the internal shape of the mold,

COLORING and additivation of polyethylene is one of the crucial phases in the preparation of materials, therefore Roplast has equipped itself, through suitable sub-suppliers, with all the systems necessary for "mass" coloring and implementing a process capable of obtaining a distribution homogeneous pigments within the polymer mass. Roplast uses suppliers specialized in the production of PE already with anti-UV additives in order to protect.

One of the peculiar characteristics of many Roplast products is that they are composed of a mixed structure: the load-bearing part is made up of a steel structure, while the body (i.e. the shell) is made of totally recyclable linear polyethylene.

Roplast frames are made of steel (produced by expert subcontractors trained and controlled by us) and cold or hot galvanized (ie by immersion) according to the UNI EN ISO 1461 standard. Roplast is equipped with an adequate Technical Office for feasibility and for the detailed design of its products. It carries out both the projects of the products and those of the relative molds, using AUTODESK® INVENTOR software systems.
