The Remcon TRUNNION STYLE TROMMEL SCREEN is for sizing and separating any mix of recyclables or other materials, including paper. A variety of screen opening sizes are available, and multiple sizes can be installed on the same trommel drum for graduated sizing and separating. The trunnion style screen has no inside frame members for plastic bags and other debris to collect on.
The Remcon CENTER-AXLE STYLE TROMMEL SCREEN is a simple, low cost design, for sizing broken glass or cleaning debris from sorted loose materials or containers such as aluminum cans or plastic bottles. The center-axle style trommel should not be used with materials that will wrap up in the center-axle such as plastic bags, rags, etc. This design has the advantage of being lower in cost and is simpler than the trunnion style screen. |

Remcon - Rotating Drum Screens for Recycling and Waste Management
The rotating drum screens, also known as trommels, from Remcon are designed for efficient sizing and separation of various recyclable materials such as paper, aluminum cans, and plastic bottles. These screens feature customizable opening sizes that can be installed on the same trommel drum for graduated separation. The trunnion style screen avoids internal frame members, reducing clogging from materials like plastic bags. Constructed from heavy-duty steel and equipped with polyurethane castors, the screens offer durability and longevity. The trommel drum itself is precision CNC burnt for smooth rolling, driven by a belt with easy tension adjustments. Further, it features a robust motor from Teco-Westinghouse and a Brook Hansen helical gear reducer adhering to the American Gear Manufacturers Association class 2 rating. The design meets OSHA safety requirements and offers various adjustment options for incline, ranging from fixed positions to fine-tuning via screw adjustments. Overall, these trommels are built for performance in rigorous recycling environments.CHUTE, IN FEED END
Custom built to receive material from upstream machine (conveyor, etc).
CHUTE, DISCHARGE END
Custom built to feed onto machine downstream from trommel.
REPLACEABLE SCREEN CONSTRUCTION
The screen is divided into four ¼-circle sections of screen or plate that are easily bolted into the screen frame.
SCREEN DRUM CONSTRUCTION
The end flanges of the screen drum are CNC burnt, rather than rolled, making the drum rounder, for smoother rolling on the trunnion wheels.
ANGLE ADJUSTMENT OPTIONS
Various options are available for adjusting the angle of incline, from multiple hole locations for fixed angle adjustments, to screw type adjustments for fine tuning the angle of incline.
DRIVE METHOD
The trommel screen is rotated by a belt that is wrapped around the trommel drum and a sheave mounted on the gear reducer. A simple tensioning device provides easy belt tension adjustments.
THRUST AND TRUNNION WHEELS
Heavy-duty steel castors with polyurethane wear surfaces.
FULLY ENCLOSED HOUSING
The Remcon Trunnion Style Trommel is completely enclosed with a hinged housing design. The drum & wheels are covered by hinged guards for easy maintenance access. Drum edges, pinch points, and all hazardous drive components have all been covered to maximize safety but also allow for maintenance and cleaning access.
FRAME
Welded structural steel.
LEGS
Adjustable tube steel construction.
GEAR REDUCER, MOTOR
Brook Hansen helical gear reducer, meets American Gear Manufacturers Association class 2 rating. Motor -- Teco-Westinghouse 3 HP, severe duty, TEFC, 1.15 service factor, class F insulation for long motor life.
GUARDS
All moving components are guarded to meet OSHA requirements.
EMERGENCY STOP SYSTEM
Remcon provides an emergency stop system as required per system layout.
CHUTE, IN FEED END
Custom built to receive material from upstream machine (conveyor, etc).
CHUTE, DISCHARGE END
Custom built to feed onto machine downstream from trommel.
SCREEN CONSTRUCTION
High carbon woven steel wire or abrasion resistant perforated plate.
REPLACEABLE SCREEN CONSTRUCTION
The screen is divided into four ¼-circle sections of screen or plate that are easily bolted into the screen frame.
DRIVE METHOD
An axle, which is mounted through the center of the screen, is driven from the discharge end of the screen with a shaft mounted gear reducer, v-belt sheave reduction, and a foot-base motor.
ANGLE ADJUSTMENT OPTIONS
Various options are available for adjusting the angle of incline, from multiple hole locations for fixed angle adjustments, to screw type adjustments for fine tuning the angle of incline.
FRAME
