Metro - Model SBR -Rubber Sheet
SBR Sheets are the most economical general-purpose rubber sheets. Synthetic Butadiene rubber or SBR is the closest alternative to natural rubber with enhanced heat aging, abrasion resistance, and chemical and temperature-withstanding characteristics. Metro Rubber Corporation is a leading manufacturer of SBR Rubber Sheets in various thicknesses and sizes, these sheets provide convenient and quick options to prepare gaskets, washers, and O-rings; used to seal metallic joints. The combination of cheap pricing, easy availability, and convenient processability makes SBR the most widely used synthetic rubber. It blends well with natural rubber, resulting in a wide range of products, including the majority of automobile tires.
- Crack, abrasion, UV resistant.
- Extensive mineral loading is possible, making the final product more economical.
- Resistant to water, many chemical, alcohol, ketone, organic acids, and aldehydes.
- Good electrical insulating properties.
- Adheres well to metallic and fabric surfaces.
- Cohesion with carbon black improves tensile strength, abrasion, and dimensional stability.
- SBR Rubber Sheets are used to prepare Seals, gaskets, flooring, shoe soles, belts, strips, insulation pads, mountings, etc.
- Width: 1 meter, 1.2 meter, or 1.5 meter. Length: 10 meters per roll or as per the customer’s requirement.
- Thickness: 0.8 mm to 50 mm.
- Surface: smooth both sides or with a fabric impression on one or both sides.
- Black, White, Honey, Blue, and red colors.
- Specific Gravity (gm/cm3): 1.1 to 1.65
- Hardness (Shore A, ±5): 40-90
- Tensile Strength, (psi): up to 3000
- Elongation at break, (%): up to 600
- Compression set at 70 °C for 22 hours (%), max: 40 to 45
- Service Temperature Range, -40 °C to +110 °C
Note: Like Natural rubber, sbr also swells in hydrocarbon-based oils, solvents and fuels, therefore not recommend for related applications.
