S2N - ’Fit-To-Shaft’ Smart Pressure Monitoring Device
The S2N ’fit-to-shaft’ device continuously monitors water network pressure, thus supports its optimization and improves energy consumption. With the help of fixed measurement points it is possible to follow operating condition within DMAs and to determine site of pipe break of leakage. Upon using pressure reducer solutions, optimal pressure can be set as per location, actual consumption needs or time of the day – this helps reduce occurrence of failures, coming from too high pressure of the network, which results in reduction of Non Revenue Water loss as well.
The S2N „fit-to-shaft’ system operates with 2 pressure measurements and one pulse signal, which collects data on water network as often as every minute and sends them to its dedicated server in every 15-60 minutes. Its central data collecting unit is equipped with IP68 protection and own battery, ensuring abt. 20.000 data transfer cycles without the need to involve outer energy resource.
The system can be installed in already operating sites as well. The collected data are transferred to their dedicated server via wireless NBIoT technology, where Business or Artificial Intelligence helps operators to set optimal pressure values, handle customer claims and discover sudden changes or drops of pressure.
The data is displayed in a tailored way according to the desires of the user, even on a mobile device. Access to the data is performed in a secure, password protected manner. Staff members with the needed authorization can even track the measurement results on a mobile phone, allowing alerts to be handled quickly, before crises occurs.
By processing and analyzing large amounts of data regarding the condition and operation of the equipment in real time, maintenance processes can be optimized and more efficient use of resources can be achieved. Due to continuous monitoring, operating and maintenance costs are reduced, and network pressure can be optimized. Traditional preventive maintenance can be replaced by proactive, predictive maintenance. The useful life of the equipment will increase, anomaly detection becomes more accurate, major failures and costly shutdowns can be prevented. The probability of future failures can be predicted and repair costs can be reduced.
If threshold values, defined jointly with the user, are reached or exceeded, the system sends a warning signal / alarm, as well as advice based on trend analysis; e.g. alarm can already be sent in case of nonproper operation or pressure change, not just when the limit values are reached.
All individual elements of the complete monitoring system can be coordinated, the system is able to send warning and alarm signals even on the basis on relative values.
The system automatically generates daily / weekly / monthly reports on the measurement data, which can be then exported in xls or csv format according to the user`s needs. Reports allow automatic support of daily water abstraction data as well.
