Saalasti - Model V -Industrial Wood Cutter Machine

The Saalasti Cutter V is used in demanding applications such as pulp mills and power plants with large material flows or where raw materials that are especially difficult to process are used. The machine can be used to process a wide range of materials, including eucalyptus, bark, wood by-products from debarking plants, screening rejects, waste wood, trees, and logs.

Saalasti’s Cutter V features our Multitool rotor, which allows easy changing of the chipping or crushing knives depending on the material. The range of processable materials can be further extended by changing the knives, as the machine can be converted from a cutter to a crusher and vice versa as required. The knives can be changed in as little as 45 minutes, so the machine can easily be converted even daily if necessary.

The Saalasti Cutter V cutter has a very high capacity, making light work of large material flows. The capacity of the unit can be selected according to your needs from between 30 and 450 loose m3 per hour. The particle size and shape can be easily adjusted by changing the wearing parts.

Safety is ensured by a unique safety feature that minimizes damage in the event of metal or large stones entering the cutter. Restoring the machinery after the safety mechanism has been triggered is quick and easy, so the safety functions do not delay the production process.

Being highly experienced in the industry, Saalasti knows how difficult it can be to handle demanding materials. Based on this knowledge, Saalasti invented its EasyRelease technology to prevent the fibers of the materials from being woolening or being ground into excessively small particles. EasyRelease reduces energy consumption by almost 15 percent compared to the previous model. The technology keeps the material in the desired form, for example as high-quality wood chips or bark chips, making it easy to transfer to conveyors and feed into the boiler.
