Sand filters are used for removing suspended solid matters, organic matters, silica, residue existed and causing turbidity in water.
Working principle of sand filters are invented and developed by inspiration of nature like all the other technological equipments. Water filtrated in different layers of earth are more clean than surface water from the points of turbidity and residue content.So water is started to filtrate in soil layers. With this technology, 5-6 layer sand filter, anthracite or quartz minerals are used in residue filters nowadays.
Materials having different grain size is placed a body in layers. Water is passed through the filter with a definite speed in accordance with pollutant level. So suspended solid matters lowers to 10µ level and turbidity lowers to 1 NTU level.
Sand filters are manufactured from polyglass, carbon steel, stainless steel.Thanks to this, water doesn't exposure any other pollutant parameter. Expected life of a sand filter is exteded. Turbidity in water is cleaned most properly by adjusting water speed at 15/20 m/h in sand filter bed. System is runned full-automatically in the control of entrance and exit pressure difference or time.So pollutants causing pressure loss is removed from system by backwashing. Also units coming after sand filters are protected against residue.

Carbon steel material is covered by dipping galvanized process or double layer double components epoxy paint against corrosion. Pressure control tests are done to completed systems. In this test, designed operating pressure is increased to 1.5 times. So confidence of system is evaluted. Vane commanding system running is choosen PLC controlled , longlived and runned authomatically. Thanks to this, İt becomes longevous , operating and labor cost are kept in minimized.
