Sentek Instrument - Model NovaPT™-D -Sapphire Fiber Optic Pressure and Temperature Sensing System
Accurate measurement of pressure and temperature in oil/gas and geothermal wells is important to optimized hydrocarbon production and power generation. However, the extreme downhole physical and chemical conditions often challenge the accuracy, stability and reliability of traditional measurement devices. It is thus desirable to have sensors that can perform well under all aggressive conditions such as high temperature, high pressure, H2S, hydrogen and hydrocarbon/water mixture.
NovaPT™-D is a patented fiber optic pressure and temperature sensor system for permanent downhole installation. The sensor is built with a monolithic sapphire structure, which offers exceptional physical and chemical robustness and extremely low hysteresis. The surface sensor interrogator together with user-friendly software displays pressure and temperature in real time and also permits data saving and transmission through internet to remote locations. The standard offering is rated for 250°C but higher operating temperatures up to 600°C can also be achieved by a special request.
