PFT - Screw Dewatering Press
An PFT screw press can be used in an extremely wide variety of liquid-solid separation, or dewatering applications. PFT screw press can be used in the same applications where belt presses, centrifuges, and filter presses have traditionally been used. PFT custom designs and manufactures 3 types of screw presses from 1 m3/hr to 10 m3/hr in capacity.
As shown to the right, the screw press is a very simple, slow moving mechanical devise. Dewatering is continuous and is accomplished by gravity drainage at the inlet end of the screw and then by reducing the volume as the material being dewatered is conveyed from the inlet to the discharge end of the screw press. Correctly design screw is critical, as different materials require different screens in order to dewater to a high dry mass ration while maintaining an excellent operating parameters.
PFT screw presses have found uses with meat and poultry processors, fruit and vegetable processors, pulp and paper mills as fiber recovery, tanneries, textile mills, recycling, building material production factories as process water treatment.
