A ferric alloy steel, ASTM P22 is suitable for high temperatures and provides excellent corrosion resistance. We produce and supply a variety of forms of grade P22 to our customers, including round pipes, tubes, square pipes, coiled tubes, hydraulic tubes, etc. Grade P22 is a chromium-molybdenum alloy with excellent corrosion resistance under acidic conditions as well as high tensile strength under high temperatures. There is generally a higher proportion of alloying elements in alloy pipes than in any other standard carbon steel, with the most common alloying elements being molybdenum, chromium, nickel, etc. ASTM exhibits low-alloy steel pipes under their standards. 

It is possible, however, to recover these steels into higher alloy steels by adding additional alloying elements (nickel and chromium), which is the same as other high-grade steels like Hastelloy, Monel, and Inconel. For the chemical balance of P22 seamless pipes, carbon is 0.05-0.15%, manganese is 0.30-0.60%, silicon is 1%, chromium is 2.6%, and molybdenum and silicon are also small elements.

A steel’s strength and flexibility are enhanced by the addition of molybdenum, and its wear resistance and properties are improved as well. To ensure our customers’ satisfaction, all of our alloy seamless pipes and tubes are fully tested before shipping, and they are inspected stage-by-stage to ensure there are no defects.
