Secar - Model 80 -Formulated Ciment Blend Used for Designing
Secar 80 is a formulated ciment blend used for designing all types of low water refractory castables. Manufactured in Chesapeake, VA, USA and Le Teil, France, refractory formulators can rely on this consistent product for their formulas anywhere in the world. Secar 80 cement produced in Chesapeake, VA is currently available in the North American market. The clinker for this cement is prepared by solid state reaction under mineralogical control. The sintered clinker is then blended with high surface area alumina to create a binder system capable of contributing to high temperature strengths. To complete this system a proprietary multi component admixture system is added to deflocculate and set the system in a way suitable for many applications. Kerneos technical staff can assist customers with the adaptation of this admixture system to suit many other rheological requirements.
Secar 80 cement is a hydraulic binder with an alumina content of approximately 80%. This complicated binder system is a good starting point for formulating high performance refractory castables. The primary mineralogical phases of Secar 80 are calcium aluminate (CaAl2O4), calcium di-aluminate (CaAl4O7) and alumina (Al2O3). With less than 0.6% other oxides and a PCE rating of cone 35 (1,780°C), Secar 80 is well adapted to almost any refractory application. Secar 80 is recommended for use in products requiring rapid hardening, resistance to abrasion, mechanical shock, high temperature exposure or where other high performance properties are required of cement.
Secar 80 is available packaged in 50-lb. bags or 3,000-lb. SuperSacks.
