MiniTrac - Model 31 -Sensitive Nuclear Detector Ideal for Density and Point Level Measurement
The MiniTrac 31 is a sensitive nuclear detector ideal for density and point level measurement. It is a non-contact application, and well-suited for continuous density measurement of liquids or bulk materials in pipes and vessels with low process differential. It features a sodium iodide (Nal) crystal to provide accurate measurement.
- For use in the Refining, Mining, Chemical, Food, Soaps and Detergents, and Pulp and Paper industries.
- Non-contact density measurement unaffected by fluid viscosity, deflection, or refractive properties
- Multigauge communication bus for level summation and additional gauges
- Adjustment with PLICSCOM and PC
- Compact, modular plics design
- SIL certification available
- Key Specifications
- 4-20 mA HART, Foundation Fieldbus, or Profibus output available
- Weighs 15 lb (6.8 kg)
- Universal input power: 90-250 VAC, 50-60 Hz; 20-60 VDC
Nuclear density gauges consist of a sealed source in a source holder and a scintillation detector. The source holder is mounted on a side of a pipe with the detector on the opposite side. A focused beam of radiation is transmitted from the source through the pipe and process material to the detector. As the density of the material in the pipe changes, the amount of radiation reaching the detector changes. The greater the density of the material, the lower the radiation field at the detector. Process density is provided in the form of a current output.
