The Multiscan LD Controller powers and accepts four 3-wire, 4-20 mA inputs expandable to eight by using the expansion board which plugs into the control unit. The controller is housed in an IP65, ABS enclosure for wall or rack mounting and is powered by 115/230 VAC, 50/60 Hz or external 12 VDC. The front panel has a backlit LCD displaying gas values and status LEDs for alarms and fault warnings.

The panel can be easily programmed by the three position key-switch for Set, Unset and Program. The alarm thresholds are user selectable for each input, the type of detector is set, and its full-scale range. The controller provides reset and acknowledge push buttons on the keypad and notifications and warnings can be displayed in a selection of languages.

The controller includes five output relays; one common each of 3 alarm levels (AL1, AL2, and AL3), one for common fault (FLT) and one auxiliary assignable contact. An internal buzzer produces an audible alarm that activates according to the programmed alarm thresholds. Adding the 4-input expansion board provides 16 Open-Collector outputs linked to the second and third alarm thresholds (AL2 – AL3) of all eight inputs. These outputs can drive external alarm relays (20 mA maximum).
