SWT - Model BR -Sequencing Batch Reactors
The SBRs (Sequencing Batch Reactors) represent discontinuous flow biological treatment systems, consisting of a basin in which biological oxidation and sedimentation processes develop and from which both the purified effluent and the sludge are extracted. I overcome. These processes are carried out at different times, cyclically varying the operating conditions of the plant; by appropriately operating on the times of the various phases, an activated sludge process is proposed again, in which, however, the different process phases follow one another in temporal rather than spatial sequence as in traditional plants.
The SBR reactor today represents perhaps the most promising technological solution in the purification field among the plant configurations proposed as a modification with respect to the original activated sludge system, for the removal of carbonaceous substance and nutrients. In a relatively short period of time, the SBR has become increasingly popular among the biological treatment systems of waste water of both civil and industrial origin, mainly due to its simplicity and wide operational flexibility, proving to be widely competitive with respect to traditional systems with continuous flow .
The SWT-SBR procedure allows you to size the SBR Process for a specific wastewater and for a predetermined quality level of the purified effluent, identifying:
- Volume of the SBR Reactor and the different associated dimensions;
- Cycle time, number of daily cycles;
- Volumes corresponding to each Treatment Phase (Filling, Reaction, Sedimentation, Stasis);
- Times corresponding to each Treatment Phase;
- Operation and Process Control Parameters for each Treatment Phase;
- Energy saving;
- The characteristics (Flow rate, Power) of the Electromechanical Equipment (blowers, pumps, etc.).
