DSS Valves - Model SSTGV -Severe Service Through Gate Valve
DSS Valves is breathing new life into the traditional Through Gate Valve by combining it with our technologically advanced Guided Shear Gate Design. The SSTGV displaces media into its port while closing, and releases it back into the stream when in an open position. This makes the Through Gate a perfect solution to static columns and applications with large amounts of solids in the pipe.
Severe service performance, specialized applications
Originally designed for the pulp & paper industry for high density pulp stock, the SSTGV suits a variety of unique applications such as:
- blast furnace dust catcher
- electric arc furnace dust
- flue gas
- static columns
The DSS Severe Service Through Gate Valve is packed with all the standard tech you would find in our traditional SSKGV offering. Most important in this design is the dual transverse sealing system, energized bore ring, and internal primary and secondary seals that eliminate fugitive emissions.
Key Features
- Dual transverse sealing system, with phenolic scrapers to remove media and scale.
- Energized bore.
- Internal primary seal is mechanically retained, allowing for zero leakage to atmosphere regardless of flow direction.
- Teflon gate glide reduce friction to enable easier movement of the gate. In higher temperature applications, alternative lubricious alloys can be used such as Bronze or Ni-Resist.
