SHARE

BAK-2 sewage treatment plants are compact factory manufactured but site assembled units designed to treat the wastewater generated by villages or small towns.

They are Euromarket’s proprietary designs and are based on an advanced biological treatment, the MBBR process.

The MBBR is based on the ability to develop aerobic bacteria culture on a protected plastic media surface. The media are kept in suspension by the air that is diffused into the aerobic reactor to maintain the bacteria alive.

In turn, the bacteria population biodegrades the organic waste compounds producing superior quality effluent.

The BAK-2 unit consists of a mono-block cylindrical tank into which lie compartments into which treatment stages take place. This tank is entirely made of stainless steel sheets that are cut, rolled and precisely drilled in the factory and bolted together on site. It is suitable for above ground installation on concrete slab or partially below ground.

There are various models regarding capacity in intervals ranging from 1000 PE to 20 000 PE. With regards to the treatment configuration there are four options available:
  • BAK-2 BN: Including compartmental BOD5 oxidation and nitrification
  • BAK-2 PBN: Including compartmental anaerobic pretreatment, BOD5 oxidation and nitrification
  • BAK-2 DBN: Including BOD5 oxidation, nitrification and denitrification
  • BAK-2 PDBN: Including compartmental anaerobic pretreatment, BOD5 oxidation, nitrification and denitrification

A final collection tank may be used for storage and disinfection of the final effluent before it is used for irrigation.

A separate cabinet is also required to house the air blowers, the control unit and the chlorine dosing station.

  • BAK-2 units are entirely made of stainless steel with the bolted-tank philosophy
  • They are suitable for above or partially below ground installation
  • They have extremely small footprint
  • The final effluent (secondary) is of excellent quality and can be used for irrigation
  • Very low energy consumption
  • Odoureless operation
  • Practicallymaintenance free as they are fully self-regulated.
