The early years:
In the early years Knapen Trailers manufactured not just moving-floor trailers but also tippers.

1985 - the first aluminium moving-floor trailer:
In 1985 Knapen Trailers developed Europe’s first aluminium moving-floor trailer.

1986 - Large volume tippers:
Around 1986 Knapen Trailers experienced a surge in demand for large-volume tippers.

1987 - Waste transport with a moving floor:
Thanks to their robust construction moving-floor trailers became increasingly popular in waste transport from 1987. This is a segment in which the trailers undergo some very rough treatment. The photo shows a moving-floor trailer with a crane mounted on it for emptying bottle banks.

1989 - Swap bodies with a moving floor:
Swap bodies with a moving floor have been a well-known quality product for many years.

1990 - Steered chassis:
Knapen Trailers is also familiar with steered chassis.

1990 - New plant:
In 1990 Knapen Trailers had a new plant built at Theo van Doesburgstraat 8 in Deurne. This site later formed the basis for the modern plant in which manufacturing still takes place today.

1991 - 100m³ volume:
Knapen Trailers has been manufacturing 100m³ moving-floor trailers since time immemorial. The photo shows a model from 1991.

1991 - Large-volume tipper trailers:
Not just moving-floor trailers but tipper trailers too have increasingly large volumes.
