Sintéleia - Model RTKs -Operating Systems (Kernel) for Spansion/Freescale Embedded Microcontrollers
Kernel soft real time expressly dedicated to F2MC-16LX/FX and FM3 families by Fujitsu-Spansion and DSP/DSC 56F8xxx family by Motorola-Freescale.
It`s a product dedicated to embedded microcontrollers of these categories ché su microcontrollori di queste categorie. The implementation of a generic kernel written in a high level language is in principle limiting both from the point of the memory employement and from the point of view of the performance.
Moreover, given the category of the processor, it`s considered necessary a kernel relatively simple operation which does not require a large investment of time to be implemented in a specific manner. In fact the RTKs includes a scheduler, with a scheduling mechanism relatively simple, a memory manager, FIFO, timers and traffic lights, or the set minimum necessary for the realization of a kernel.
The limitation to memory of Small and Medium models is linked to the fact that the microcontrollers of this family, also if they can manage possibly an external memory, do not have large amounts of internal RAM .
The current trend is to employ where possible microcontrollers which have the memory resources necessary for the application directly inside them and, consequently, the great majority of applications for which you will choose this processor will not require a large amount of RAM, making unnecessary use of memory models COMPACT or LARGE.
