S.R.S.Sludge Recovery System

The S.R.S.® Sludge Recovery System crushes the sludge and fluidize the hydrocarbons, by using the same product that has generated the sludge, and recovering up to the 98% of the hydrocarbon contained. It operates in a closed loop, granting the maximum personnel safety and environment protection. Sludge is crashed by special rotating nozzles (called “Jet Washers”) installed on the tank roof, that direct high-pressure jets on all the tank internal surfaces. While liquefying, hydrocarbon gets separated from sludge thanks to 3 combined actions: Mechanical: given by the 5/6 bars of the oil jet from the jet washers; Chemical: given by the lower specific weight; Physical: by heating the oil, viscosity is reduced.

Inert remaining in the tank bottom after S.R.S.® operations are usually made of 1/3 of water, 1/3 of sediments and 1/3 of hydrocarbon.
