The SludgeTracker Plus can operate with up to four dual parameter sensors for multi tank operation. There are four 4-20mA outputs for sludge level and another four for effluent turbidity.

The SludgeTracker sensor emits a burst of ultrasound down into the liquid. The ultrasound is reflected back to the transducer from any interfaces that are present. These reflections form an ultrasound spectrum. Digital signal processing is then used to analyse the spectra to locate the top of sludge blankets. (See right)

Initialisation is simple. All that is needed is to program the SludgeTracker with the depth of the tank or clarifier and press the initialise button. The monitor does the rest and will be displaying the sludge blanket level 5 minutes later.
