Soil-Vapour Extraction (SVE) Systems
Soil-Vapour Extraction (SVE) systems usea vacuum to remove vapours from the subsurface. Once above surface, the extracted vapours are treated via treatment media or a catalytic oxidizer and then discharged to the environment. Vertex has installed and designed numerous SVE systems in various geologic media.
COMPOUNDS TREATED
Compounds treated by SVE systems include:
- BTEX and petroleum hydrocarbons
- Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs)
- Methane
EXPERIENCE
The key to the successful design and installation of a SVE systems is a comprehensive understanding of the constraints of the site. Vertex has successfully designed and installed SVE systems to meet client’s objectives at sites that vary from inner-city basements to Class I Division II hazardous sites. Vertex has several mobile Certificates of Approval that can allow for the installation and start-up of SVE systems within two to three weeks.
