The roots of Klein are going back until 1905 and in the meantime KLEIN established itself as a specialist in sludge treatment on the market – one key milestone was the development of the first Belt-Filter-Press (1966).

In 1998, the Environmental Engineering sector became independent. Since it’s independence, the Environmental Engineering sector of Klein developed and launched the Low-Temperature-Drying processes Pro-Dry®, Compact-Dry and Combi-Dry. This led to a further extension of the market position, the enlargement of the product portfolio and enabled a more flexible reaction to customers’ request.

Our portfolio comprises all services for the successful realization of your project, starting from first planning, including design and realisation as well as tailor-made customer service packages, for all projects from small standard systems up to sophisticated and individually planned water treatment plants. Our substantiated know how in sludge treatment is based on long term experience.

Our experience is based on more than 4,000 successfully installed plants in differenct applications all over the world:

Belt-Thickener with a throughput of 9 m³/h up to 150 m³/h, Belt-Filter-Presses with a throughput of 6 m³/h up to 30 m³/h and Dryer with a water evaporation capacity of 300 kg/h up to 8,000 kg/h.
For excess sludge, brewery flotate sludge, primary sludge, anaerob and aerob stabilized sludge, for dairy sludge, industry sludge, sinter sludge, paper sludge and digested sludge, fermented substrates and wood chips.
