OSK - Model GHOSt -Space-based Hyperspectral
Hyperspectral imagery is the highest dimensional way of seeing. From space, this technology allows for frequent collection of data to build detailed analysis and insight around a given location. Most optical imagery platforms capture only a few color bands and cannot distinguish material composition or molecular makeup. OSK captures over 500 narrow contiguous color bands and reflectance features in the visible and infrared light spectra.
Light touches nearly everything on Earth. And everything reflects a spectral signature: the chemical fingerprint of a material reflected from its surface—solid, liquid, or gas. OSK can fingerprint materials down to the molecule.
OSK is the first US-based commercial company to launch a fleet of persistent space-based satellite platforms equipped with best-in-class hyperspectral sensors—starting with our GHOSt constellation. Six satellites will launch between 2022 and 2023 from SpaceX’s Space Launch Complex 39 in Cape Canaveral, Florida and Space Launch Complex 4 in Vandenberg, California.
