Specac
Specac - Model Typhoon -Vapour Phase Process Flow Cell
FromSpecac
The Typhoon is a single-pass gas cell for NIR process spectroscopy. It has Swagelok fittings to permit gas flow into the cell and utilises SMA 905 fiber optics as standard. Installed on fast by-pass loops directly on the plant, the Typhoon gas cell allows for real-time remote monitoring and control. Superior optical design, state-of-the-art sealing technology and rugged construction are combined with precision manufacturing to ensure many years of reliable, high performance. - Swagelok process connections: generally 1/4" size but others available.
- Pathlengths: cells can be built with pathlengths of 10 cm and upwards.
- Sapphire optics: for NIR spectral range.
- Factory-aligned optics: ensures optimum measurement stability throughout the lifetime of the cell.
- Single-pass gas cell that is defined by the length of the body between the optical windows.
- A choice of body materials are available for the customisation of your flow cell. We manufacture in Stainless Steel 316L as standard but Hastelloy® C276, Titanium, Zirconium 702, and other grades of Stainless Steel are available upon request.
- Window sealing materials are generally perfluoroelastomers such as Kalrez, Polymax, or Viton of various grades.
- To ensure optimum NIR spectroscopic absorption features for gas analysis, optical transmission pathlengths are available from 10 cm and up. Standard lengths include 20 cm, 30 cm, and 50 cm.
- Specac process cells can be connected remotely to the widest choice of commercially available FT-NIR spectrometers using standard SMA 905 connectors.
- Protective hoods are fitted as standard to protect the fiber connections.
- By using highly polished sapphire windows and optimized flow patterns the risk of window fouling in raw chemical process streams is greatly reduced.
