SPECTROLIGHT - Model Basic-A10 -Flexible Wavelength Selector with TwinFilm Technology
The Flexible Wavelength Selector by SPECTROLIGHT Inc harnesses TwinFilm technology to enable highly tunable wavelength filtering, combining the precision of a grating monochromator with the circular aperture imaging benefits of a bandpass filter. This manually adjustable filter features three knurled knobs that allow for fine-tuning: two knobs adjust the center wavelength and bandwidth, while a third compensates for beam direction offset. Supporting a broad wavelength tuning range and smoothly adjustable bandwidth (FWHM 2-15 nm), this device suits applications involving lasers, supercontinuum lasers, and light sources with large beam sizes such as tungsten-halogen, plasma, and LED. The compact optomechanical design includes a circular uniform aperture of 10 mm and provides high out-of-band blocking to minimize spectral leakage. Its compatibility with microscopes, telescopes, and other photonic instruments ensures seamless integration. Maximum performance is achieved with collimated incident light.
The Flexible Wavelength Selector utilizes TwinFilm™ technology to deliver the tunable wavelength filtering characteristics of a grating monochromator together with the circular aperture imaging capabilities of a bandpass filter. The Flexible Wavelength Selector Basic is a manually tunable filter that features three knurled knobs – two for adjusting the center wavelength and the transmission bandwidth and one for compensating the beam direction offset.

Simple Manual Adjustment
Separate knobs enable independent manual settings of both the center wavelength and the transmission bandwidth. (Gear 1:1)
Imaging Detection
Simple integration into microscopes, telescopes, cameras, light sources and other common photonic instruments.
High Out-of-band Rejection
High (OD 5) out-of-band rejection avoids unwanted spectral leakage and associated background noise typical of liquid crystal-based filtering systems.
