Spectronic - Digital Output Cooled Photo Diode Array Cameras
These Line Cameras are innovate electro-optical transducer assemblies for high speed detection of optical radiation. They provide digital outputs of electro-optical signals so that, in conjunction with microprocessors or personal computers, evaluation of signals can be readily implemented without the user having to possess specialized knowledge of electronics. The cameras may be used as direct replacements for single detector, scanning spectrometers and spectrophotometers, as well as being used for precise measurements in low light level conditions.
The cooled series use photo diode array detectors from Hamamatsu. These detectors have integrated Peltier cooling. The camera housing has a large heatsink to absorb heat created in the cooling process as well as a fan which will be switched on if the heatsink is not enough generally only needed in very warm conditions). The detector is cooled to a temperature of -10°C. (lower on request). This makes long integration times possible for detecting very low light levels. Because the cooling is inside the detector housing there is no problem with condensation on the faceplate.
