Ashapura - Model 904L -Stainless Steel Seamless Pipe
A part of the austenitic stainless-steel family, stainless steel 904L Seamless Pipes have a chromium content that ranges from 10% to 30%. Due to its low carbon content, this element has increased resilience to heat and corrosive conditions. Stainless steel that is highly alloyed and made of the austenitic alloy 904L. One advantage of using the alloy is the stainless steel 904L pipe’s improved resistance to stress corrosion cracking, or SCC.
Alloy 904L emerges as the most durable of them all, even if most stainless steels resist sulfuric acid at various concentrations. It is appropriate for these applications to use a robust material, such as 904L pipes. The susceptibility to sulfuric acid has been identified as a contributing component due to copper’s inclusion in the alloy. The nominal diameters of the stainless steel 904L pipe range from 1/8 to 24, while its outside diameter ranges from 1mm to 24mm. They come in various schedules and forms, with lengths up to 30 meters, for various uses.
In instances where the 316L and 317L tubing’s corrosion resistance qualities are insufficient, 904L tubing is frequently employed. They are employed in the pharmaceutical, petrochemical, and aerospace sectors. Machines for paper, petrochemicals, autos, pharmaceuticals, and other industries employ stainless steel 904L tubes for air conditioning refrigeration. 904l has good formability and weldability and retains its non-magnetic state under all circumstances. Due to its austenitic structure, SS 904L offers high durability even at cryogenic temperatures.
The pipes also offer greater resistance to localized attack, especially from erosion forms like pitting corrosion, since the alloy has larger molybdenum. These pipes have exceptional pitting resistance when utilized in neutral chloride-containing environments. In addition to being resistant to stress-related corrosion cracking and crevice corrosion, grade 904l welded pipe is also well suited for a sulfuric acid solution at varied concentrations below 70 °C. Since these pipes have a low carbon content, they are not susceptible to carbide precipitation, even after general thermal treatment or welding operations have been performed on them. By doing so, the possibility of intergranular corrosion is reduced or eliminated, which can happen after welding or general heat treatment.
These Pipes are noted for having a greater amount of nickel and molybdenum and a lower carbon content in their alloy. TheASTM B673 Stainless Steel 904L Pipesexhibit strong corrosion resistance and good initiation passivation conversion ability. Non-oxidizing acids are where the stainless steel 904L pipes’ corrosion resistance is most noticeable.
