HYDREKA Octopus - Model LX -Standalone Data Logger
The Octopus LX is a standalone data Logger, providing a remote communication facility. It operates on batteries and is immersion-resistant. The Octopus LX is the perfect solution for any metrology application on a remote site, with no electricity supply, and is also ideal for monitoring flow rates, pressure, level (reservoirs, potable water systems), rainfall and overflow installations.
The Octopus LX can have up to two physical inputs which may be:
- Digital: pulses, statuses, events, frequencies.
- Analogue: external low-voltage (up to 100 mV) level/pressure sensors, integral pressure sensors (0-10 bar, 0-16 bar or 0-20 bar), supplied 4-20 mA signal.
The Octopus LX supports several data transfer standards: local (through a PC or a PDA), or by GSM network (SMS or GPRS), through an integral quadriband GSM modem. The quadriband feature allows the Octopus LX to be operational world-wide (Europe, North America, Asia).
The Octopus LX can store up to 65,536 records in a continuous stream (FIFO memory) or for a preset period (static memory), at time intervals that can vary between 1 second and 24 hours.
The Logger operates on two lithium batteries (type D), which give an endurance of 5 years, based on the assumption of sending one SMS per day and a recording time interval of 15 minutes.
