The screening process

The material is fed into the starscreen machine hopper and, depending on material, a dosing screw conveyor can be additionally installed in order to feed the material onto the starscreen in an even more dosed fashion. The screening process starts on the screen star where all screen stars rotate in one direction thereby loosening up the material. The fine screen material drops between the stars onto a collecting conveyor. This conveyor then transports the screened material on a fine grain conveyor to the discharge point (on the side). The oversize grain is transported up to the starscreen and conveyed backward on the oversize grain conveyor belt. Optimal sizes to be screened are 5 mm – 80 mm.
