UNS S32750 F53 Round Bars are made from stainless steel 2705 of super duplex grade. 2705 grade stainless steel has a dual microstructure, making it a duplex stainless steel. UNS S32750 F53 Round Bars have a mixed microstructure as a result of the presence of both ferrite and austenite in equal proportions. UNS S32750 Round Bar has a higher tensile strength than ferritic and austenitic steel grades.
The UNS S32750 alloy has greater strength due to its higher molybdenum and chromium concentrations, which give it greater corrosion resistance than standard duplex stainless steel grades. Its balanced dual microstructure phase provides high strength and corrosion resistance, particularly in high chloride environments.
When compared with ferritic and austenitic grades individually, Super Duplex offers the same advantages as its counterpart, i.e. – lower alloying costs. As a result of the high tensile strength of the ASTM A276 S32750 Hex Bar, the wall size can be reduced without compromising both the quality and strength of the material.
ASTM A276 UNS S32750 Forged Bars are usually available in a solution-annealed condition. This alloy has a yield strength of 550 Mpa under annealed conditions, which is higher than most grades of austenitic and duplex stainless steel. Another important feature of the ASTM A479 S32750 Bar is its higher PREN number. A higher content of metals such as chromium, molybdenum and nitrogen results in a Pitting Resistance Equivalent Number (PREN) of greater than 41. The pitting and crevice corrosion resistance provided by the A276 S32750 Flat Bar is superior to austenitic and duplex stainless steels across a wide range of corrosive media, and the Critical Pitting Temperature is above 50°C.
The bars of this alloy cannot be hardened by heat treatment, but they can be strengthened by cold working. Additionally, the A479 S32750 Rod exhibits a low coefficient of thermal expansion. Moreover, the ASTM A276 UNS S32750 Forged Bar has a higher heat conductivity than austenitic steels. As a result, this alloy is suitable for applications where temperatures can reach 300°C.
